Alicat’s Flow Vision software for flow and pressure control provides intuitive interfaces for getting the most out of your device when connected to a computer. Choose Flow Vision SC to gain control of up to 26 Alicat instruments at a time, complete with scripting and logging capabilities. Choose Flow Vision MX for simple gas mixing applications for up to 10 mass flow controllers.

USB Drivers for BB3/BB9, FP-25, AFS and USB Conversion Cables
Alicat instruments and conversion cables that communicate with your computer via USB create a virtual COM port on your computer through the USB drivers linked below. If your computer does not automatically locate the USB driver, you can download the appropriate version below.

To find the number for your new virtual COM port, open the Device Manager after you have connected your instrument and turned it on. The virtual COM port should be called “USB Serial Port (COM#)” and appear under the “Ports (COM & LPT)” category, as shown below.
*Note: Alicat devices work best over serial connections when the following settings are used:
- Baud: 19200 (default; others can be used if the computer, its software and the Alicat device are set for the same rate)
- Data bits: 8
- Stop bits: 1
- Parity: none
- Flow control: none
Alicat Serial Terminal
Use this simple Serial Terminal application for command line access to your instruments. This allows you to query your instruments, command new setpoints and read and write to the device registers. This application requires the Microsoft .NET Framework to run properly (usually pre-installed on your PC).

Alicat Serial Address Dump
The Serial Address Dump application allows you to log the register configurations for any Alicat device. You can use this to record current settings before performing a major change or to compare current values to the initial values an instrument had when it was shipped from our factory. This application requires the Microsoft .NET Framework to run properly (usually pre-installed on your PC).

Are you having problems communicating with your Alicat devices? Not sure which port your controller is connected to? Our COM Port Troubleshooter application will help you verify that your device is working properly. Modbus-RTU and TCP/IP
Devices ordered with the Modbus-RTU application layer communicate over serial RS-232 or RS-485. Devices ordered with Modbus-TCP/IP supports standard 10BaseT and 100BaseT Ethernet communication. For more details about using Modbus on your Alicat instrument, read the Modbus Operating Bulletin.
