Job summary

As an OEM Systems Project Manager at Alicat Scientific, you will own and optimize the OEM Systems process, driving complex, multi-disciplinary projects from concept to delivery. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless collaboration between engineering, operations, sales, and customer experience teams to deliver high-quality, customized solutions for our OEM partners. You will manage opportunities through the full lifecycle, perform risk assessments, and refine processes to improve efficiency and adoption across the organization.

Your success will be measured by funnel progression, revenue growth, on-time delivery, risk mitigation, and warranty performance. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong technical acumen, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Technical functions

  • Manage all OEM Systems opportunities through the process, ensuring timely progression and optimal use of resources
  • Perform risk assessments on all OEM System business cases
  • Create project plan for all OEM Systems, defining timelines, scope of work, and workforce required
  • Behave as liaison between engineering and operations to ensure manufacturing readiness of new OEM systems and platforms
  • Ensure sales and customer experience teams are well prepared for incoming orders
  • Own the OEM Systems process, gathering internal feedback and using best practices to refine the process

Qualifications – Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or related technical field. (Or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in manufacturing or engineering
  • Experience in managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Strong understanding of product development cycle
  • Excellent risk assessment and mitigation skills
  • Strong communicator and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with manufacturing readiness processes and DFM principles
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • PMP certification preferred

  • Funnel movement through the OEM Systems process. % that move between stages and rate of movement.
  • Revenue of OEM systems
  • On-time Delivery of OEM Systems
  • % of Risks mitigated
  • Warranty issues of OEM Systems

Onboarding goals

3 months

  • Document status of all OEM system opportunities in our ERP and project management software, identifying steps that were skipped.
  • Ensure Project Engineers, sales team, and GMs have access to the opportunity list and can easily see movement and progress, contributing to their respective opportunities.
  • Backfill 3 largest OEM system opportunities with any skipped steps to ensure smooth progress through the rest of the process.
  • Report on stage gate movement
  • Learn more about engineering, sales, and manufacturing to build capability to assess risk of projects with assistance from management.
  • Gather baseline feedback on OEM systems

6 months

  • Refine entire process to make it easy-to-use and increase adoption level of the process through the company.
  • Work with sales team to ensure adequate sales follow up on all opportunities
  • Perform risk assessments on incoming business cases independently
  • Document all past OEM systems as an idea for future platforms for the company, researching potential markets where this could be expanded.
  • Write up all past OEM systems in a success story library to assist sales team in finding new opportunities
  • Lead transfer from engineering to operations on all won opportunities

12 months

  • Analyze stage gate movement to identify bottlenecks and further iterate the process
  • Work with marketing team to promote capabilities of OEM Systems team and increase incoming opportunities
  • Analyze feedback gathered throughout these 12 months to identify areas of improvement and success.
  • Streamline and refine transfer from engineering to operations
