Which products can have DeviceNet installed?
Most Alicat flow and pressure instruments are compatible with DeviceNet.
Exceptions (incompatible with DeviceNet):
- CODA Coriolis controllers and meters (K and KC Series)
- OEM devices (BC, EPC, and EPCD-Series)
- Portable instruments (MB, PB, and LB-Series)
- Class 1 Division 2 area instruments (-X part numbers)
How does DeviceNet change instrument specifications?
- Alicat part number: -DNET
- Analog signals?: No
- Electrical connections: Male 5-pin M12 connector for DeviceNet (top port) and male 9-pin D-sub connector for RS-232 comms (side port)
- Additional power requirement: 170 mA
- Available with display?: No
- Software compatibility: LabVIEW
- Max number of devices on network: 64
Do I still have a choice of gases and gas mixes on DeviceNet instruments?
Yes. Gas instruments with DeviceNet have the full Gas Select™ list of gas calibrations and Composer™ gas mixing firmware.
How fast are communications with a DeviceNet instrument?
The default baud rate for DeviceNet is 125 kbps. You can change the rate to 250 or 500 kbps using DeviceNet or RS-232 serial commands.
