This article details the available options for Alicat devices and briefly explains the purpose of each.\n<h2>Conformal coating (-CC build option)<\/h2>\nHigh-humidity and condensation due to sudden temperature changes can damage electronics. Most devices are available with an optional acrylic conformal coating, applied to the internal electronics to protect them from moisture.\n<h2>IP ratings for Alicat devices (-IPXX build option)<\/h2>\nMost Alicat instruments are rated to <strong>IP40<\/strong> by default. These are protected against solid objects \u22651.0 mm and have no water protection. IP40-rated devices can be configured with any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alicat.com\/technical-reference\/#pinouts\">electrical connectors<\/a> and any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alicat.com\/support\/communication-options-for-alicat-instruments\/\">communication protocol<\/a>. These devices come with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alicat.com\/support\/digital-displays\/\">front panel display<\/a> by default.\n\n<strong>IP66<\/strong> or <strong>IP67<\/strong> ratings are available for most devices \u226550 SCCM. IP-rated devices &lt;20 SLPM have a larger-than-standard form factor, which increases the dead volume and slows instrument response time.\n<ul>\n\t<li><span>IP66 rated devices are dust-tight and resistant to powerful water jets from any direction.<\/span><\/li>\n\t<li><span>IP67 rated devices are dust-tight and can be temporarily immersed in water \u22641 m.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\nIP66\/67 rated instruments use <a href=\"https:\/\/documents.alicat.com\/pinouts\/DOC-PINOUT-M12.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">M12O locking connectors<\/a>.
