This tutorial details how to change flow and pressure averaging to average out noise in readings.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Video tutorial<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><iframe title=\"Alicat Mass Flow Controller: Tutorial - Flow and Pressure Averaging\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6z__swsseqw?feature=oembed&rel=0\"  allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_accordion _builder_version=&#8221;4.23.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Video transcript&#8221; open=&#8221;on&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.23.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;]<p>\u201cHello.\u00a0 My name is Michael Whiteside.\u00a0 I\u2019m an Applications Engineer here at Alicat Scientific.\u00a0 In this video I\u2019m going to be showing you how to use the averaging functionality on an Alicat device.\u00a0 Now let\u2019s get started.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In order to properly use the averaging functionality on an Alicat device, we will hit MENU (bottom right button), ADV SETUP (bottom middle button), SENSOR SETUP (top left button), and Averaging at the bottom here (bottom middle button).<\/p>\n<p>What this averaging functionality does is it takes an average of all the instantaneous flow readings (or pressure readings) within a set period of time, and this period of time can be set between 1 and 255 ms.<\/p>\n<p>We can change our pressure averaging (press top left PRESS AVG button) say to 100 (using UP, DOWN, and SELECT DIGIT buttons as needed).\u00a0 Press SET (bottom right button) to confirm this change.\u00a0 Flow averaging can be set to the maximum of 255.\u00a0 Just as an example, let\u2019s set it to 256, and the device should come back with an error.
