Ethernet/IP

Ethernet/IP industrial network protocol is available on Alicat flow and pressure instruments purchased with the Ethernet I/P option. Automate your flow and pressure control system through an ethernet cable. The protocol must be ordered as an installed option for new instruments, and is not available as an upgrade to existing units. DeviceNet

Modbus RTU

Modbus Poll configuration file for Alicat flow and pressure instruments purchased with the Modbus RTU communication protocol. This file loads the configuration requirements required to read the available data registers on any Modbus-equipped Alicat device. This is useful for troubleshooting and viewing the required Modbus data settings.

PROFIBUS

GSD file for Alicat flow and pressure instruments equipped with PROFIBUS. The latest version of the device driver is designed to work with any Alicat PROFIBUS unit. Customers using older PROFIBUS device drivers can upgrade to this device driver.

Serial Terminal

Alicat’s Serial Terminal application gives you command line access to your devices. The program will allow you to read/write addresses, change set point’s and query devices.

PuTTY Settings

PuTTY is a commonly-used serial terminal program that is available for download from putty.org. Expand the tab below to configure the PuTTY settings to work properly with Alicat mass flow and pressure instruments.

  • PuTTY Configuration for Alicat Instruments

    In the Terminal category of the PuTTY configuration window, check the box that says “Implicit LF in every CR,” and select the “Force on” radio button in the “Local echo” section. These settings make PuTTY act like a normal serial terminal, such that pressing enter will move to the next line, and both what you type and what gets returned stay on the screen.

    Now, go to the Serial subcategory under the Connection category of the PuTTY configuration window. Ensure that the serial line settings appear as they do in the image below (baud: 19200, data bits: 8, stop bits: 1, no parity or flow control).

    The last step is to go to the Session category in the PuTTY configuration window and select the “Serial” radio button under “Connection type.” Take care to ensure that your COM port and baud rate are correct here, and then save your new settings so they can be recalled for use easily.

Serial Address Dump

Alicat’s Serial Address Dump application allows you to log the register configurations for any Alicat device. You can use this to record current settings before performing a major change, or to compare current values to the initial values an instrument had when it was shipped from our factory.

This application requires the Microsoft® .NET Framework to run properly (usually preinstalled on your PC).
